The Leica Summarex 85mm f/1.5 SOOCX is a rare screw-mount (LTM) high-speed portrait lens produced 1943–1955 in extremely limited numbers. Its optical design is a modified Double Gauss type comprising 6 elements in 4 groups, with the front group air-spaced to control spherical aberration at full aperture. The silver chrome finish, heavy brass construction and uncoated or single-coated front element distinguish pre-1950 examples. This specimen retains original optics and mechanics, confirming its status among the scarcest Leica lenses of the post-war era.
