This is a chrome second-version Summilux-M 50mm f/1.4 stripped and refinished in black paint by Kanto Camera in Japan, an aftermarket conversion rather than a factory finish. Underneath it is the standard version two: Walter Mandler's seven elements in five groups, twelve-blade diaphragm, E43 filters, one metre closest focus, from a run of 43,505 lenses between 1961 and 1991. Kanto's paintwork over the brass barrel is the reason these are sought after.
