Leitz Canada made the 75mm f/1.4 Summilux-M alongside Wetzlar and later Solms, and Canadian barrels are engraved LEICA LENS MADE IN CANADA. The optical design is Walter Mandler's, seven elements in five groups, with a ten-blade diaphragm and half-stop clicks. Production of the type ran 1980 to 2007 and came to fewer than 14,752 lenses in total. It takes E60 filters, focuses to 0.75m and weighs 560g. Canadian examples are the ones collectors of Mandler's work look for.
