The 1965 to 1972 Wetzlar first version has nine elements in six groups, fewer than 3,200 made, and a deep rear element that fouls the meter arm of the M5. The 1972 to 1979 Canadian second version, fewer than 7,050 lenses, redesigns it to eight elements in six groups with a shorter back end, so it suits metered bodies. Both take Series VII or E48 filters and focus to 0.7 m.
