Schneider-Kreuznach built the 21mm f/3.4 Super-Angulon for Leitz from 1963 to 1980, an eight element, four group design covering 92 degrees that stayed the reference wide angle for the M for close to two decades. Fewer than 5,970 were made across the whole run, and chrome was dropped in 1967, after which every example left the factory black. The rear group sits deep in the body, so no TTL meter reads past it and framing is done with an accessory 21mm finder. Chrome is the scarcer finish.
