The SOOFM is Leitz's collapsible hood for the 5cm f/2 Summitar and the collapsible 5cm f/2 Summicron, catalogued from 1954 to 1969. It fits over the front of the lens and folds flat when not in use, which suits the short barrel of these lenses far better than a deep rigid shade and makes it practical to leave fitted. The Summitar's uncoated and early coated glass gains noticeably from shading in side light, and this is the accessory most often missing from a Summitar outfit.
