The Reid III is the British-built rangefinder made under the Reid name, produced across 1953 to 1964 and following the pre-war Leica pattern closely, with a 39mm screw lens mount and a cloth focal plane shutter. It was made in small numbers, largely for professional, scientific and government use rather than for the general market, which is why it never became familiar outside Britain. This is the Type 2. Complete working examples are uncommon and are usually found through UK collectors rather than on the open market.
