Canon's 50mm f/1.2 is the screw-mount fast normal that sits between the company's 50mm f/1.4 and the f/0.95 in its rangefinder line. It threads directly onto any 39mm Leica screw body and onto an M body through an adapter, and it is built entirely in metal with a long focus throw. At full aperture it draws softly, with a glow carried through the highlights that tightens noticeably as it is stopped down; by the middle apertures it behaves like a conventional fast fifty.
