The Kinetal was Cooke's range for 16mm production, designed by Gordon Cook at Taylor-Hobson and supplied in Arri standard mount, reaching nine focal lengths from 9mm to 150mm by the early 1960s. The 50mm is listed at f/1.8 and engraved with its T2 working stop. Kinetals draw more quietly than the Speed Panchros beside them, with moderate contrast and calm, untroubled backgrounds. This example has been rebuilt from its cine fitting into Leica M for use on a rangefinder body.
