The Kinematograph was J.H. Dallmeyer's fast cine objective of the late 1920s, a Petzval-derived design of two cemented doublets left uncoated. It draws a small central disc of sharp detail and pulls the surroundings into swirl, with the low contrast and glow that uncoated glass gives. Dallmeyer used several lettering styles on these barrels, and this is the script-engraved version rather than the later block engraving. Supplied originally in cine mounts, it has been rehoused for Leica M.
