The 2.8cm f/6.3 Hektor was the widest lens Leitz offered for the screw-mount Leica when it arrived in 1935, five elements in three groups, and it stayed in the catalogue until 1955 with 11,255 serial numbers assigned. Post-war barrels are chrome-plated brass and the glass is coated, which lifts contrast and controls flare noticeably better than the uncoated pre-war lenses. It takes A36 slip-on or 34mm screw-in filters and the SOOHN hood, and at f/6.3 wide open it is a scale-focus daylight lens.
