Chrome is the M4 as most of them were built: 47,522 of the 60,691 serial numbers Leitz assigned between 1967 and 1975, with a second source counting 47,191. The M4 brought the angled quick-load take-up spool, the hinged crank rewind and a fourth pair of framelines to the M body, giving 35, 50, 90 and 135mm in the 0.72x finder while keeping the fully mechanical construction of the M2 and M3.
