The Elmar 35mm f/3.5 was the first wide angle Leitz made for the screw mount Leica, built from 1930 to 1950 in at least 46,747 lenses. It is a four element, three group Tessar type in nickel or chrome plated brass, about 112g, taking A36 filters and focusing to one metre, with the old continental stop sequence of 3.5, 4.5, 6.3, 9, 12.5 and 18. Leitz catalogued it as LEDTF at launch and later as EKURZ, EKURZUP and EKURZCHROM. Coating appears on lenses from 1946.
