The OLLUX, later catalogued as 12522, is Leitz's clamp-on shade for the 35mm f/1.4 Summilux, listed as the correct hood for the first version steel rim lens of 1961 to 1966, of which only 2,371 were built across black and chrome. Its outline is unmistakable, oval at the sides and flat across the top and bottom, sized to the E41 front. The 12522H marking belongs to the mid-1960s Leitz scheme of five digits plus a letter, dropped again by 1966. Surviving hoods are scarcer than the lenses.
