The Leica Summarex 85mm f/1.5 is a rare screw-mount (LTM) high-speed portrait lens produced 1943–1955 in extremely limited numbers. Its optical design is a modified Double Gauss type comprising 6 elements in 4 groups, with the front group air-spaced to control spherical aberration at full aperture. The black-paint variant features the early rigid mount without built-in filter turret. This example retains original factory black lacquer finish and is among the scarcest post-war Leica optics.
