The fourth version of the 35mm Summicron-M, catalogued 11310 in black, is the lens collectors call the King of Bokeh for the soft, unbroken way it renders backgrounds. Walter Mandler's design uses seven elements in five groups with a ten-blade diaphragm, focuses to 0.7 metres, takes E39 filters and weighs about 160 grams in black. Leica allocated 52,993 lenses across 38 batches between 1979 and 1999, the final 1999 runs numbering 550, 400 and 200. This is the German-made black version.
