The fourth version of the 35mm Summicron ran from 1979 to 1999 to a total of 52,993 lenses, catalogued 11310 in black and 11311 in silver chrome. Walter Mandler's seven elements in five groups earned the King of Bokeh nickname for the way a crisp plane of focus gives way to unusually smooth, gently swirled backgrounds. This is the silver chrome finish, lacquered brass at around 260 grams against 160 for the black alloy barrel, with a ten-blade diaphragm, E39 filters and 0.7m close focus.
