11826 is the black anodised fifth version of the Summicron-M, in the catalogue since 1994. The optics are unchanged from the 1979 lens, six elements in four groups from the Mandler, Wagner and Edwards patent, but the barrel gained a built-in telescoping hood and lost the focusing tab. It weighs about 240g, focuses to 0.7m, runs from f/2 to f/16 on an eight-blade diaphragm and takes E39 filters in an internal thread. More than 94,573 serials have been assigned to the design.
