The pre-aspherical 35mm Summilux-M, version 2, was made from 1967 to 1995 in about 28,350 lenses to Walter Mandler's seven element, five group design. It opens to f/1.4, focuses to 1m and takes E41 filters, in a barrel far lighter and simpler than the steel rim it replaced. This is a German-marked example rather than one of the Leitz Canada barrels. Its low-contrast, glowing signature at full aperture is the reason the pre-ASPH is still bought to use.
