The third version of the pre-aspherical 50mm Summilux-M, produced from 1992 to 2005 in more than 18,132 lenses, keeps the seven elements in five groups of the earlier barrels but adds Rolf Crema's built-in telescoping hood and moves to an E46 filter thread. Minimum focus is 0.7m and the diaphragm has twelve blades with half click-stops. It remains the last pre-aspherical Summilux, wanted for the soft wide-open glow that the aspherical successor deliberately engineered away.
