The 75mm-Summilux was introduced in 1980 to the launch of the M4-P. For the first time, the M4-P had the additional viewfinder frames for 28 and 75mm lenses. For many users and collectors, the imaging performance of the Summilux 75mm is comparable to that of the Noctilux-M 1.0/50mm. Both lenses show a very fine, nuanced color rendering that differs markedly from modern Leica M lenses and is highly valued by the users of these lenses. Only the late version of Summilux 75mm are made in Germany.
