The VIDOM is Leitz's universal finder for the screw-mount Leicas, made from 1933 to 1939 and covering the 3.5 to 13.5cm lenses from a single eyepiece, with a foot lever for parallax correction. Its optical path shows a laterally reversed image, the quirk that led Leitz to replace it with the upright-image VIOOH. This is the black paint and nickel finish, the earliest of the three Leitz offered before black-and-chrome and all-chrome versions followed, and the one that suits a black and nickel body.
