The APO-Summicron-M 50mm f/2 ASPH is the reference standard lens of the M system, apochromatically corrected and computed to out-resolve current sensors. Eight elements in five groups, an eleven-blade diaphragm, a built-in retractable hood, E39 filters and focusing to 0.7m, in a barrel of roughly 300g. This is the silver chrome finish rather than the usual black anodising, matching chrome and silver M bodies. The lens has been in production since 2013 and remains Leica's most highly corrected rangefinder 50.
