The goggled Elmarit-M 135mm f/2.8 was Leitz's answer to focusing a long lens on a rangefinder: an attached spectacle unit magnifies the viewfinder image and lengthens the effective rangefinder base, sharpening focus accuracy where it matters most. Order number 11829 is the second version, five elements in three groups by Walter Mandler, made from 1964 to 1973 in fewer than 10,301 examples, mostly at Midland, Ontario. It takes Series VII filters in the A63.7 mount, focuses to 1.5m and weighs 730g.
