The fourth version of the Elmarit-M 28mm f/2.8, order number 11809, was built from 1992 to 2006 in a run of about 10,130 lenses and is the last of the pre-aspherical 28mm Elmarits. Eight elements in seven groups sit behind an E46 filter thread, focusing to 0.7m at roughly 260g. The slim barrel intrudes far less into the viewfinder than the long-nosed third version it replaced, and the pre-aspherical drawing stays gentler wide open than the ASPH lens that followed.
