The 2 inch f/2 Elcan was Ernst Leitz Canada's lens for hard service: four elements in four groups, every surface air spaced rather than cemented, in lanthanum and high refractive glass, so performance held through heat and shock. Around 500 were built between 1972 and 1974, most of them against the United States Army contract for the KE-7A camera. This lens has been converted to the Leica M bayonet, an aftermarket modification rather than a factory mount, so it will fit any M body.
