The Panda is a silver chrome M6 fitted with a black advance lever, shutter speed dial, rewind crank and frameline selector. It was never a Leica special edition: the first bodies came out of a temporary shortage of chrome parts at the factory, and Leica's serial records draw no distinction between a Panda and a standard chrome M6. Most are dated to the early 1990s, and Leica later supplied black parts so chrome bodies could be converted. Everything else is standard M6, with the 0.72x finder and mechanical cloth shutter.
