The Leica M6 Platinum "150 Jahre Photographie" set (factory code 10450) was produced in a limited edition of 1500 units in 1989 to commemorate 150 years of photography. The camera features a platinum-plated brass top and bottom plate with special engraving. It is paired with the Summilux-M 50mm f/1.4 Version 2, a 7-element in 5-group Double Gauss optical design introduced in 1962 that replaced the original 1959 rigid Summilux. This lens employs one aspherical surface on the front element of the rear group for superior correction of spherical aberration at full aperture.
