Leitz Canada's first 35mm Summilux, made from 1961 to 1966 in roughly 6,400 lenses, is called the steel rim for the bright metal ring around the front element. Walter Mandler and Erich Wagner drew the seven element, five group design, patented in 1958, and the lens takes E41 filters and the OLLUX 12522 hood. This is the version without spectacles, for M2, M4 and later bodies, focusing to 1m, in the silver chrome finish offered alongside black.
