Summilux II is the 1967 to 1995 second version of Leica's fast 35, about 28,350 lenses in all, holding Mandler's seven elements in five groups in a lighter barrel. This is the plain M-bayonet form, without the spectacle attachment fitted to the M3 version, so it mounts on any M body carrying 35mm framelines and focuses to 1m. Series VII filters sit inside the clamp-on hood and the lens weighs about 245g. Wide open it is soft and low in contrast, sharpening quickly by f/2.8.
