Leitz's second 50mm Summilux in black anodised finish, with the E43 filter thread used throughout this version's life. Seven elements in five groups by Walter Mandler, twelve blade diaphragm, one metre close focus, a barrel 54.5 by 47.7mm and about 275 grams. Production ran from 1961 to 1991 and totalled 43,505 lenses, spread over some thirty six batches. It remains the reference for pre-aspherical Summilux drawing: glowing at f/1.4, firm and clean from f/2.8.
