Late production of the second 50mm Summilux, the version built from 1961 until 1991, before the E46 redesign with its built-in telescoping hood took over in 1992. The optics were unchanged across the run: seven elements in five groups by Walter Mandler, twelve blade diaphragm, E43 filters, one metre close focus, about 275 grams in black anodised finish. Total production reached 43,505 lenses, and the closing years account for the smallest batches of the whole series.
