Order number 11814 is the first version of the 75mm f/1.4 Summilux-M, introduced in 1980 and built by Ernst Leitz Canada at Midland to Walter Mandler's design; he is quoted as calling it his favourite lens. It takes a separate clamp-on hood, the built-in telescoping hood arriving only with the 11815 that followed in the early 1980s. Seven elements in five groups, E60 filters, a ten blade diaphragm; fewer than 14,752 were made in all versions to 2007.
