The Red Flag 20 (红旗 20) was one of the most sophisticated Leica copies ever made. Technically it was a mixture of features of Leica M4 and M5. Only 200 cameras have been produced by direct order of the government as a demonstration of the capabilities of the Chinese industry, none were sold to the public. It has the Leica M lens-mount, and three lenses were made for it. The standard lens is a 50mm f/1.4 Ref Flag 20, a copy of the Summilux 50mm; the other lenses are a 35mm f/1.4 Ref Flag 20, also a copy of Summilux, and a 90mm f/2 Summicron copy. The viewfinder has frames for all three lenses. It’s a rare chance for us to come across the complete, valuable working set.
