Order number 11820, the 50mm f/1.2 Noctilux, was the first series-produced lens in the world built with two aspherical elements, designed by Helmut Marx and Paul Sindel and made in Wetzlar from 1966 to 1975. Six elements in four groups, Series 8 filter, about 470 grams. Sources give total production from roughly 1,757 up to 2,450 lenses. This one wears an aftermarket black paint refinish by Kanto Camera in Tokyo rather than the finish it left the factory in.
