Leica launched the Summarit-M line in 2007 as a lighter, less costly route into M lenses, offered in 35, 50, 75 and 90mm, all at f/2.5. The 35mm uses six elements in four groups with a nine-blade diaphragm closing to f/16, takes E39 filters, focuses to 0.8m and weighs about 220g. Order number 11643. Production ran to 2014, when the 35mm f/2.4 Summarit-M ASPH took its place, making the f/2.5 a short-lived and compact modern M wide-angle.
