The second version of the 35mm Summilux ran from 1967 to 1995 and kept Mandler's seven elements in five groups in a lighter barrel without the stainless front rim of the original. Leica Wiki puts total production at about 28,350 lenses, split between Wetzlar and Leitz Canada at Midland, Ontario. This is the black anodised 11870 in German manufacture. It focuses to 1m, filters through Series VII glass in the clamp-on hood and weighs roughly 245g.
