Product Description

This is a first-version Noctilux-M 50mm f/1, the E58 variant built in three batches of 1,000 in 1975, 1977 and 1978, refinished in black paint by Kanto Camera in Japan. The paint is an aftermarket refinish and not a Leica factory finish. Optically nothing changes: Walter Mandler and Gerhardt Bechmann's seven-element, six-group f/1 design, focusing to one metre, 580 grams, separate clamp-on hood, and the soft luminous rendering at full aperture the f/1 is bought for.
