Product Description
The Summilux-M 1.4/50mm was available from 1995 with titanium coated surface and supplemented the already available Summilux-M 1.4/35mm and the M6 titanium. The lens was manufactured until 2004, after which it was no longer available in titanium finish of Leica.
It seems that there have been only two complete production lots of the Summilux M 1.4/50mm titanium, and that the normal manufacture was always a small series within a lot of black anodized or silver chromed lenses. This makes the reproducing of the actually produced piece of this lens very difficult. A maximum of 2,500 pieces should be taken out.
In addition to the already mentioned Summilux-M 1.4/35mm and the Summilux-M 1.4/50mm, two further lenses made of titanized surfaces followed in 1996 and 1998. This is the Summilux-M 1.4/35mm ASPH and the Elmarit-M 2,8/90mm.
With the introduction of the limited edition of the M6TTL Titanium, the Summicron-M 2.0/35mm ASPH, the Summicron-M 2/50mm and the APO-Summicron-M 2/90mm ASPH were produced in titanium design.
